Consumers Insurance USA is a member of Motorists Insurance Group and offers personal auto policies and multiple commercial insurance policies. Consumers Insurance USA began operations as a Tennessee-based, Property and Casualty company, in April 1995. CIUSA was formed by a shareholder base consisting mainly of independent insurance agents located across the state of Tennessee. The initial private placement funds were raised from a founders group of nine individuals; seven of whom were independent insurance agents. This group was led by William (Bill) Legge, Jr. and included current board members: Jim Cunningham, Amanda Farnsworth, Ed Gibbons,Joe Lester,Lou Patten, and Dave Sciortino. The Board of Directors remains committed to the company's focus on the agent and the consumer. In 1995, Consumers set out to build an unparalleled processing system. Today, Consumers' ease of doing business factor far surpasses the majority of other insurance companies in the market. One of the primary reasons agents love doing business with Consumers is the technology. Consumers' processing system is the key to its incredible business efficiencies.
