Guala Closures South Africa, a locally-based international market leader is a member of the Guala Closures Group that was founded in Italy in 1954 and now operates on five continents with 29 production facilities, all ISO certified. It is the world leader in the production of aluminium and non-refillable closures and in anti-counterfeiting technologies, with over 20 billion closures sold each year. Guala Closures SA provides aluminium closures to the wine, spirits, olive oil, fruit juice, water and also the pharmaceutical industries. The closures are manufactured at its 12 000m² state-of-the- art factory in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, which has been in operation for over half a century. Guala Closures SA designed and developed the renowned Savin Premium wine closure, this closure took top honours for both marketing and design, in the EAFA's Alufoil Trophy competition where the company also won four trophies. Guala Closures SA is the largest local closure manufacturer capable of foiling onto the top and side of closure, Guala Closures SA is also the only local manufacturer of safety closures such as the Tamper-Evident (TE) closure, and the eagerly awaited Nip Cap safety closure which was launched and in full production since March 2017.
