National Secretariat of Open Government Indonesia

The National Secretariat of Open Government Indonesia (OGI) was formed to facilitate the achievement of the Open Government Indonesia National Action Plan (NAP) and to coordinate with stakeholders in consolidating other open government movements, both at national and regional levels. The secretariat is a sub-unit within the Ministry of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia, under the Directorate of State Apparatus. OGP Aiming to establish a global innovation and transparency movement, OGI initially began from the Open Government Partnership, a multilateral agreement between Indonesia and 7 other countries. Since its founding in 2011, OGP now has 78 member countries and a growing number of local members that work alongside thousands of civil society organizations. About the NAP The NAP is a key document that becomes the core implementation of open government practices by OGI. The NAP contains commitments resulting from the co-creation process between Ministries/Agencies and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). Each commitment includes detailed milestones to ensure the implementation of this commitment. In 2012, the Government of Indonesia launched its first open government national action plan. By 2020, the Government has compiled six open government national action plans. Every two years, OGI submits an action plan that outlines concrete commitments to enhance transparency, accountability, and public participation in government.
