Sachsen Wasser GmbH (SaWa) is a specialised consulting company in the field of water supply and sanitation with a particular focus on water utility advisory and operations and maintenance (O&M). The company is based in Leipzig, Germany and operates worldwide. SaWa has been founded in the year 2000 as a subsidiary of the Municipal Leipzig Water and Wastewater Company, one of the largest water and wastewater utilities in Germany, and was transformed into an independent consulting and operating company in 2015 by Management-Buy -Out. Our background lies in water utility management and operations, and the first-hand experience in transformation and change management processes that were steered at the Leipzig water utility. We are a partner especially to public and municipal utilities and institutions assuming responsibility for their water and wastewater management. SaWa offers services in the operation of water and wastewater systems and in consulting and capacity building, for example regarding organisational structures, tariff structures and financial planning, and the improvement operational and commercial procedures. We have a long track record of successful international consulting and training projects in the water sector, mostly on behalf of water and wastewater utility organisations. Our project work has served numerous Clients in South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia, East Asia, the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa as well as Latin America.
